My video upload failed

Symptom

Uploading a video (or image) to PinBridge storage returns an error instead of an asset.

Causes and fixes

Unsupported format (400)

Unsupported video content type means the file is not one of the accepted types.

  • Videos: video/mp4 (.mp4) and video/quicktime (.mov).
  • Images: gif, jpeg, png, webp.

Re-encode the file to a supported format and re-upload.

Empty file (400)

Uploaded file is empty means the file had zero bytes. Re-export it and try again.

File too large for your plan (400)

file_too_large — “File exceeds the maximum allowed size of <N> MB for your plan.” Per-file limits are plan-based:

Plan Image per file Video per file
Playground (Free) Not allowed Not allowed
Starter 10 MiB 250 MiB
Growth 50 MiB 500 MiB
Agency 100 MiB 1 GiB
Enterprise 100 MiB 1 GiB

Compress the video, lower the resolution or bitrate, or upgrade to a plan with a higher limit.

Free plan blocked (403)

feature_unavailable on upload means you are on the Free (Playground) plan, which cannot upload hosted assets. Free must publish from a public image_url instead. To upload videos or images, upgrade to Starter or higher. See 403 plan_limit.

Note: video pins require an uploaded video asset_id (there is no video_url field), so publishing a video pin requires a paid plan.

Disk quota full (402)

storage_quota_exceeded — “Organization storage quota exhausted. Delete files or upgrade your plan to continue uploading.” Disk quota is per organization:

Plan Disk quota
Playground (Free) 0
Starter 2 GiB
Growth 7 GiB
Agency 20 GiB
Enterprise 20 GiB

Delete assets you no longer need to free space, or upgrade. Assets have no automatic expiry; they persist until you delete them.

The per-file plan limit above is the effective size cap for uploads.
